• London Data Centre – located at the heart of the UK’s internet hub the EMS Data Centre provides an exceptionally secure and controlled environment for web hosting. Availability of electrical power is addressed at three levels : (a)multiple providers, (b)battery based UPS and (c)Diesel Generators. The site is protected against fire by means of a VESDA smoke detection system and FM200 Fire Master fire suppression system. Physical security is also a high priority with the premises being protected by round the clock patrols, perimeter alarms, comprehensive CCTV coverage, a proximity card access system (access logged and time stamped), a visual check on all persons entering the data floor and combination lock protected access to individual racks.

• Internet Connectivity – The EMS Data Centre offers exceptional levels of internet connectivity with direct access to a network which boasts full redundancy (100% capacity headroom), so called “one hop” topology (allowing fastest possible intercontinental communication), superior routing technology, 192 Gbps capacity, close to 500 peering agreements (with 100% headroom), LINX (London Internet Exchange) peering with some 65 ISPs/telcos and redundant STM fibre links to European and US networks. All EMS operated servers are connected to the network backbone by an unrestricted 100Mbps full duplex Ethernet. All servers are specified such that they can burst to the full speed capability of the network.

• System Management – EMS has long experience in the areas of routine backup, disaster recovery (utilizing proven “roll-back” procedures), hardware and software (OS / application) maintenance and the expert management of release/upgrade procedures (eg website revisions etc).

• System Monitoring – Pro-active system monitoring is a further service offered by EMS and can range from basic availability testing (server/system) to user experience monitoring (eg checking functionality of “shopping basket” facility, identifying “dead links” etc) and the more detailed analysis of system and server component performance (load, processor utilization, memory, disk space, database etc).
