The mismatch between your pressing need to provide broadband for documents and emails and the ability of the telecommunications company to deliver in a timely manner is one you will be all too familiar with.
Construction News 20.4.07 had a whole article on this problem and a third of it was devoted to talking about how our invention i-MO has helped construction companies and contractors overcome this all too common problem.

To quote Simon Cripps, Operations Support Manager at mechanical and electrical contractors NG Bailey:-
|
| |
“It seems to take BT Openreach an age.they appear to work from postcodes and when you are on a new development that can be tricky. The more established site isn't necessarily easier. The primary contractor has usually taken the lines already in and a subcontractor such as NG Bailey can be left to fend for itself."
In the past the company has resorted to mobile data cards in laptops, at least to be sure of getting e-mails. Recently however it has been putting i-MO through its paces on a site without regular broadband access. This relatively new device developed by EMS connects to the internet via cellular 3G/HSDPA network.
"It has certainly been doing a job for us while we wait for ADSL.and what excites us about it is its flexibility-you can put it in a van and have your office there."

Shepherd Construction has also used i-MO and been pleased with the results as ICT support manager Steve Slater explains:
|
| |
"The two data cards bonded together aggregate the data streams into one that can be accessed by several users," he says. "It is a robust unit that doesn't crash. What it also allows us to do is run Outlook 2003 in cache mode, which trickles e-mails down to the client's desktop. They only present themselves when they are ready rather than the user having to wait for them to download."
i-MO has also proved its worth when the BT service has been broken during a site move. Waiting for reinstallation has been taking up to 10 working days in Mr Slater's experience and on these occasions the mobile unit has acted as stand-in.

EMS capabilities
EMS specialises in improving productivity by supplying cost effective, instant secure data connectivity at remote and temporary locations. The i-MO Wireless Wide Area Network (WWAN) appliance uses two independent cellular connections that are combined to provide redundancy, super fast download speeds and low latency. Download speeds in excess of 1.5Mbs and upload speeds of 512Kbs are possible with HSDPA (High-Speed Downlink Packet Access).
The purpose built i-MO appliance can be pre-configured with a secure Virtual Private Network to provide instant secure data connectivity at your remote sites . The fully managed service includes a help desk and remote diagnostics to quickly resolve any networking issues. In the unlikely event of a hardware fault the service includes the supply of a pre-configured replacement appliance, shipped direct to your site. There is no need for you to send anyone out to fault find.
i-MO can provide you with instant secure data communications from under £13.00 per day.
EMS also supply Broadband, Telecoms and Mobile solutions including Voice over IP (VoIP). For more information on how we can provide a solution to your communications problems, please call James Deadman on 01428 751655
